Cape Town - SuperSport United defender Clayton Daniels has refuted claims that the relationship between head coach Gordon Igesund and the players is becoming strained.
Matsatsantsa have been forced to endure a tough start to the season, winning just two of their opening 10 league games to sit 12th in the Premiership.
They have not fared much better in the cups, losing in the first round of the MTN8 to Bidvest Wits, while their most recent loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout semi-final was another disappointment.
Reports have begun to surface of Igesund's job being under pressure due to the bad start, as well as rumours that he is beginning to lose the faith of his dressing room, but Daniels has vehemently denied that to be the case.
"This is definitely news to me as I'm not aware of any troubles between the coach and players. Believe you me, I would be the first to know," Daniels told KickOff.
"Yes, we haven't been performing as expected but we are working hard to rectify matters on the field.
"Our coach is trying his level best to turn things around and he has the full support of the players."
