After losing last year's final to SuperSport, Benni McCarthy finally clinched his first trophy as a coach in his second season.
The Citizens claimed a 4-1 penalty shootout win over Matsatsantsa at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, with Peter Leeuwenburgh saving spot kicks from Bradley Grobler and Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Meanwhile, City will return to action on Tuesday evening when they host Wits at the Cape Town Stadium.
In an attempt to celebrate with fans, the club announced a reduced ticket price in order to fill the stadium.
