Cosmos threaten Stars' unbeaten streak

Cape Town - Free State Stars will look to extend their unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership when they host Jomo Cosmos at Goble Park.

Stars drew 1-1 at home with University of Pretoria on December 13, extending their unbeaten streak to six league matches.

The Free State side has claimed six points from five home matches this season.

Ea Lla Koto are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 12 points from 10 matches.

Cosmos claimed their second win of the season when they defeated Chippa United 4-3 at home on November 22.

The Potchefstroom-based side has claimed two points from five away matches this season.

Ezenkosi are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with 10 points from 11 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Stars and Cosmos have met in 38 league matches since 1985.

Ezenkosi have 14 wins compared to 12 for Ea Lla Koto, while 12 matches have been drawn.

Stars have won nine of their 19 home matches against Cosmos, suffering four defeats in the process.

The teams last met in the 2011/12 season, with Ea Lla Koto winning 1-0 at home before the return game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The teams have played to four draws in their last five league meetings.

Kick-off is at 15:30 on Saturday, December 19.
