Confirmed: Meyiwa's insurance paid out

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates chairperson Irvin Khoza confirmed that Senzo Meyiwa’s insurance payout has been received by the Premier Soccer League.

According to the official PSL Twitter account, Khoza revealed that the PSL has a priority to take care of any player or official when dealing with an injury or untimely death.

“The Senzo Meyiwa insurance payout has been received by the league,” said Khoza.

“We will notify the family, the club and beneficiaries in a proper manner.

“PSL has one policy with all the clubs - injury and untimely death. Officials also qualify. All the players are covered.”

Meyiwa was shot dead last year in a tragic house burglary in Vosloorus by unknown gunmen.
