Cape Town - Cape Town City boss John Comitis says Orlando Pirates utility player Abbubaker Mobara is on a big contract at Bucs and hasn't signed for the Citizens.
Recent reports have suggested that Mobara is set to sign for City after his career fizzled out with the Sea Robbers.
However, Bucs do have an option on the 25-year-old's contract which is expiring at the end of June.
Nonetheless, despite reports suggesting a move to City was a done deal, Comitis says he hasn't even spoken to Bucs supremo Irvin Khoza about a move.
He told the Citizen: "I've been trying to get hold of Irvin [Khoza, Pirates boss] to chat about Mobara, but we just haven't been able to discuss things as yet.
"The player is on a big contract at Pirates and that's something we will have to consider. We are interested, he is the type of player who could work well for us.
"But, right now, there's still a long way to go and we certainly can't confirm that a deal is in place to bring Mobara to City."
