Clever Boys let go of Ngcepe

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has trimmed his squad with the news that the club have released Thulani Ngcepe from his contract by mutual consent.

The 26-year-old striker was reunited with Hunt for a second time when he joined the Clever Boys at the start of the season after a few years in the football wilderness.

However, Ngcepe failed to establish himself in the starting line-up, making just three Premiership appearances and one in the MTN8, with his last outing coming in the 3-1 win over Jomo Cosmos on November 8.

With Hunt having boosting his striking options for next term with the acquisition of Gabadinho Mhango from Bloemfontein Celtic, it has been decided that Ngcepe no longer has a future in Braamfontein.

Hunt gave Ngcepe his Moroka Swallows debut at the age of 16 and later signed him while in charge of SuperSport United.
