Cape Town - Chippa United have thanked the departing attacking midfielder Mark Mayambela for the contribution he made to the club over the past two seasons.
Chippa parted ways with the 31-year-old after the expiration of his contract with the Port Elizabeth-based outfit.
Goalkeeper Mbongeni Mzimela has also been released with Patrick Tignyemb seemingly earmarked as his replacement.
Nonetheless, the club's official website said of Mayambela's contribution: "The Professor has played a major role, ensuring the growth of the brand Chippa United, guiding the young players in the team, being ever-present in the club's CSI projects and forever availing himself when needed.
"The Chippa United family will always hold Mark in high esteem for the footprints he leaves behind and will always have a special place in our hearts.
"We would like to wish him all the best in his future endeavours and he will forever be welcomed at the football club."
