Chippa deny Sangweni rumours

Cape Town - Chippa United owner Siviwe 'Chippa' Mpengesi has denied reports linking Thamsanqa Sangweni with a move away from the Absa Premiership club.

Mpengesi says there has been no official offers tabled for Sangweni after local media claimed that Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns were keen on acquiring his services.

"As a club we have not received any offers for Sangweni," he told Goal.com website.

"And by the way, he has also gone publicly to say that he would like to remain at the club and we welcome that because we know what he can do.

"But he is still our player because we have not received anything offers for him at the moment."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
