Cape Town - Chippa United have confirmed that head coach Dan Malesela has been discharged from hospital.

Last week, Sport24 reported that United boss Chippa Mpengesi revealed that Malesela has been admitted to hospital.

Mpengesi said that the 51-year-old “felt the pain in his chest” during a training session but soon after left the complex to see a doctor.

According to the club’s official website, Malesela was discharged the same morning he went to see the doctor.

“I feel good. No pain. I am fine. I would like to thank you all for your messages,” said Malesela.

The head coach has been given a few days off but will be back in the technical area shouting out orders on Wednesday, March 15.

Chippa take on Witbank Spurs in a Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash.

Kick off is at 19:30.
