Chippa capture Botswana duo

Cape Town - Chippa United have confirmed the signing of Botswana duo Thatayaone Kgamanyane and Kabelo Seakanyeng from Gaborone United.

The two players each join the Premiership club on a three-year contract and are among a list of players that have joined the side since the return of Dan Malesela as head coach of the Chilli Boys.

Chairman Chippa Mpengesi said the two players impressed during the ongoing COSAFA Cup in the Limpopo Province.

Kgamanyane joins the Chilli Boys after an impressive season in the Botswana Premier League where he was the top goal scorer with 20 goals.

The two players are likely to play for their country against Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA Plate final set for Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday evening.

Chippa have had a busy off-season and have also signed former Mamelodi Sundowns defender, Thabo Nthethe as well as other three players, who joined from clubs in the National First Division clubs (NFD).

"Yes man, we have just signed those two players. We signed them yesterday and it’s a three-year deal for each of them," Mpengesi told Vodacom Soccer.

"Look, we are trying. We are always trying and must do our part as the management.

"This is the only club in the Premiership in the province and we are getting support from the government and the municipality.

"So, they must see that we are serious because we also sold three players and have to revamp our squad."
