Cape Town - Chippa United have confirmed that Teboho Moloi has been appointed to take over from the sacked Dan Malesela, with the club's former assistant coach set to be in charge against Platinum Stars on Saturday.
Malesela saw his head roll off the chopping block after an underwhelming start to the campaign in which two defeats and a single victory were recorded. As such, the Chilli Boys have made the change with Moloi coming in on a caretaker basis.
United's official Twitter account tweeted, "We confirm Teboho Moloi as caretaker coach‚ effective immediately."
Prior to joining the Port Elizabeth-based outfit in June, the 49-year-old was a long time assistant coach with Orlando Pirates - the team where he made his name as a player.
However, the former Bafana Bafana international did not see eye to eye with Malesela, and left soon after being appointed. Nonetheless, he has now been brought back to steer the ship on an interim basis seemingly by club boss, Chippa Mpengesi.
He is likely to be on the bench for the clash with Dinaledi at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Phokeng this weekend.
Moloi's men are currently in 12th position although they will no doubt hope to pick up points against a struggling Stars outfit.
