Cape Town - Two
of Chippa United's seasoned Absa Premiership campaigners, Mark Mayambela and Katlego
Mashego, will miss Friday's match against Maritzburg United through
injury.
Midfield play-maker Mayambela picked up a knock to his shin during training and should be able to play in Chippa's next game, against Platinum Stars.
Mashego strained a hamstring in the 0-0 draw with Golden Arrows last weekend and is expected to be out for a week or two.
"[Mayambela is a] key player for us and I am hoping to unleash him in front of the home fans when we welcome Platinum Stars. He has not featured this year but is a player that is very important to us for what he brings to the team," coach Teboho Moloi told the club's website.
"It is a huge blow to lose Katlego, I feel he was combining very well with Mxolisi Macuphu before we were forced to sub him early in the game. We are glad that he will not be sidelined for long."
Goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo is also doubtful due to a toe injury, but defender Ayabulela Konqobe was back at training this week after missing the Arrows game with a knee concern.
The match against Maritzburg United takes place at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night.
Kick-off is at 20:00.
