Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic and Chippa United remain unmoved in the Absa Premiership's top eight after their dull goalless draw at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The visitors started to get a foothold in the contest after a cagey opening, as Victor Letsoalo, Kabelo Dlamini and Roggert Nyundu all drew routine saves out of Akpeyi.
Nyundu had the best chance of the match midway through the first half, but Akpeyi was equal to the task in palming his long-range strike behind the goal.
It was no surprise that the two teams went into the break still deadlocked at 0-0, and matters didn't improve in the second half as chances remained at a premium.
Celtic showed more endeavour in attack but they were unable to breach a visiting defence expertly marshalled by James Okwuosa and Zith Macheke.
A flurry of substitutions in the closing stages made little difference as the spoils were shared in Bloemfontein.
