Chiefs will play beautiful attacking football says Solinas

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas insists his side will continue to try to play attacking football regardless of whether they are away or at home in any competition.

Chiefs were at their rampant best on Wednesday when they demolished Zanzibar's Zimamoto 4-0 in a CAF Champions League Preliminary Round first leg tie with Khama Billiat slotting home a hat-trick, while Kabelo Mahlasela also got on the scoresheet.

As such, Solinas takes the view that the Glamour Boys don't have to make any major changes to their playing philosophy ahead of next Tuesday's second leg encounter at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar City.

He told SuperSport: "In my opinion, Chiefs needs to play in the same manner. Play to win. Try to create a lot of chances.

"Try to play beautiful football, attacking football because we are Kaizer Chiefs.

"So we will not change our philosophy. At home or away, we always try to play to win and dominate the game."

In addition, the Italian commented on the performance of Mahlasela who scored his first goal for the side.

He concluded: "Mahlasela is an offensive player. Very fast. In my opinion, he needs to understand the manner to exploit the speed because he is very fast.

"He needs to create a football style for himself. So we start with the job with him to play in the position as a winger."

Amakhosi are next in action on Saturday evening when they face Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.

Kick-off is from 18:00.
