Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that Amakhosi will be making new additions to the squad to assist the technical team.
Motaung was speaking at the unveiling of the Soweto giants' latest additions to the playing squad while introducing Rob Hutting as the club's new technical advisor.
Chiefs introduced four new signings to the media, Leonardo Castro from Mamelodi Sundowns, Siphelele Ntshangase and Kabelo Mahlasela from Baroka FC and Bloemfontein Celtic, respectively, while left-back Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya was promoted from the development ranks.
The club confirmed that Castro would be wearing the No 8 jersey, Ntshangase No 5 and Mahlasela No 17.
Motaung admitted at the media briefing, "It's been tough, we have not achieved what we wanted to achieve". Our plans are to bolster the squad, we need to assist the technical staff. We have brought in new players and plan to make more signings."
Head coach Steve Komphela's men have struggled in recent years with the former Maritzburg United coach yet to win silverware at Chiefs.
Motaung also introduced Hutting with the Dutchman drafted into the club on an advisory role to give support to the coaching staff.
"The relationship with Rob started last year in June. We've been doing our research together with the chairperson and the coach," Motaung added.
"Rob is here to advise the technical teams of both the first team and development"
Chiefs will be looking to unleash their new acquisitions in front of the Amakhosi faithful when they face Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 20:15.
