Chiefs to face Botswanian giants Township Rollers

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are set to play Botswanian giants Township Rollers in a pre-season friendly on 20 July just seven days before the Carling Black Label Cup tie against Orlando Pirates.

Chiefs are back hard at work at pre-season training as they hope to improve upon an abject 2018/19 in which they finished in ninth and lost the Nedbank Cup final to TS Galaxy.

Amakhosi's management have promised to turn fortunes around in 2019/20 and it appears they are taking their vow seriously after lining up the clash with Rollers.

The club from Gaborone announced that the game would take place during a press conference on Tuesday.

Glamour Boys coach Ernst Middendorp will undoubtedly use the encounter to field new signings such as Lazarous Kambole and James Kotei to see what they can do in a pressure situation.

The clash will also be a valuable tune-up for the CBL Cup tie with Pirates on 27 July at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
