Chiefs still interested in Rusike - report

Cape Town - Zimbabwean international striker Evans Rusike is still on Kaizer Chiefs' wanted list, a report has claimed, after the club failed to secure his services in pre-season.

The 26-year-old scored nine goals for Maritzburg United last season and it was speculated that an off-season move to Chiefs was on the cards.

But the Team of Choice were able to hold on to their prized asset, who still has a few years to run on his contract, although he has yet to score for the club this season.

And according to a report on the Soccer Laduma website, Amakhosi are still keen on the former Kiglon marksman.

"The team hasn't given up on Rusike. They feel he can change the scoring fortunes at the team. You know, they wanted to have him as early as at the start of the season, but it didn't work and that's why they want to fight for him in January," a source claimed.
