Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has revealed the club have turned up few prospects they are likely to sign in the January transfer window.
Despite appearing to struggle in some key areas, including the striking department where Michelle Katsvairo is only forward to have scored a league goal in 2016/17, Chiefs apparently have no plans to bring in any new faces any time soon.
The news may come as some surprise as over the past few months a move for Black Leopards play-maker Siphelele Ntshangase has been widely mooted. In addition, the Glamour Boys have been linked with Thanda Royal Zulu striker Mhlengi Cele.
The 29-year-old has bagged 12 league goals in 10 appearances for the National First Division leaders. Both Komphela and Chiefs' football manager Bobby Motaung were reportedly in attendance at one of the player's matches recently.
Nonetheless, Amakhosi's coach claims the club have not unearthed any potential stars they are looking to sign at this stage.
He told reporters: "For now, we're still quiet to go public, but clearly any other person is always in the hunt for anything that can make you better. For now, there hasn't been any."
The Glamour Boys have six league games remaining before the opening of the January transfer window, when Komphela will be hoping to add attacking options to his side.
The next fixture will see the Soweto giants welcome Stuart Baxter's SuperSport United to the FNB stadium on Wednesday night.
Kickoff is at 1930.
