Chiefs praise 'marvellous' supporters

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have praised the positive impact the club's fans have on the team following a run which has seen the Glamour Boys pick up two wins in their last two matches.

Chiefs started the season in unconvincing fashion and pressure was starting to mount on head coach Steve Komphela.

However, back-to-back victories over Highlands Park and Maritzburg United has seemingly eased the pressure considerably.

Amakhosi beat the Team of Choice thanks to goals from Lorenzo Gordinho and William Twala - the Naturena-based outfit next face Free State Stars in the Premiership on Wednesday.

Nonetheless, Chiefs have hailed the impact of the fans and praised them for the passionate support they continue to show.

"What gave Komphela also a big smile on his face was the positive and vibrant atmosphere the Chiefs supporters created at the FNB Stadium, as they came in full force behind the team while singing and dancing long after the game was finished," A statement on the club's official website read.

Meanwhile, Komphela also added his voice to the praise by adding, "They were simply marvellous."

Chiefs face Ea Lla Koto at Orkney’s James Motlatsi Stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
