Chiefs, Pirates pay respects as tributes pour in for Mngwengwe

Tributes have poured in for former Golden Arrows captain Nkanyiso 'Sgora' Mngwengwe who sadly died early on Monday morning.

He was 30.

"Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club would like to confirm the untimely passing away of our footballer Mr. Nkanyiso Mngwengwe. Sgora, as we in the Abafana Bes'thende family affectionately knew him, sadly passed in the early hours of the morning," the statement read.

Arrows head coach Steve Komphela spoke exclusively to Sport24, revealing that Sgora was a "humble" individual and knew exactly what he wanted out of life.

Tributes have immediately started to stream in from Premier Soccer League players and clubs.
