Chiefs on high alert for unhappy Knowledge Musona?

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs could be on high alert as former striking superstar Knowledge Musona has hinted he will not be returning to Anderlecht for the 2019/20 campaign.

Musona joined the Belgium giants in May last year on a four year deal following four impressive seasons with Oostende.

However, he was given just three league starts until January and spent the second half of last season on loan at Lokeren.

The Zimbabwe ace scored 35 Premiership goals for the Glamour Boys over three seasons and it could be a massive coup should Amakhosi manage to lure him back to Naturena.

Speaking to Newsday, Musona said: "At the moment, I am not thinking about it (returning to Anderlecht).

"I will think about it after Afcon. Last year, I did not play that much and, honestly, I wasted a year of my playing career. I did not enjoy it because of the way I was treated at the club."

While it has not been confirmed if Amakhosi have indicated any interest in securing Musona, his agent Mike Makaab denied reports of a return to South Africa earlier this week on social media.

Musona concluded: "I haven't received any offers as yet because the window just opened and also when I left the season had just ended so we will see what happens.

"It is a long way to go. I believe if I go to Afcon and play good football for the national team, then the doors will open and other good opportunities may come."
