Chiefs need to dig deeper to fix problems, says Radebe

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs legend Lucas Radebe believes it is not only the players that must be held accountable for the failures on the pitch in recent seasons.

Chiefs have not won a trophy since the era of Stuart Baxter from 2012 until 2015 and the supporters endured a largely torrid three seasons with Steve Komphela.

Giovanni Solinas then came and went before Ernst Middendorp lost the Nedbank Cup final to TS Galaxy while earlier finishing in ninth place in the Premiership.

Radebe, who starred for the Glamour Boys from 1989 until 1994, told reporters: "They need to restructure, dig deep where the problem is.

"They have players, but the problem is deeper than that. Until they look at themselves and admit that everyone at some point has to be accountable.

"Everybody has to take responsibility in this great club on why it's failing this much. We and the supporters have huge expectations because we know what they are capable of producing."

Chiefs have made some potentially exciting additions to the squad ahead of 2019/20 with the arrival of the likes of Lazarous Kambole and James Kotei.

This indicates better times could be ahead for Chiefs in the next campaign.
