Chiefs mum over Buchanan buy

Johannesburg - Despite reports linking outgoing Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Keagan Buchanan with a move to Naturena, Kaizer Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa has denied that the Phefeni Glamour Boys are interested in the industrious playmaker.

Phunya Selesele announced the departure of the 23-year-old player last week, but Maphosa told Sport24 that the Amakhosi are not yet ready to announce their off-season targets.

“No, no look here my friend, we are not dealing with such issues at the moment,” Maphosa said.

“The season has not yet ended and already people want to know about our possible signings.

“So we can’t be thinking of signing players at this stage but maybe next week we’ll start with the business but now I don’t have any information with that regard.

“And even if I have it now, I wasn’t going to tell you because it’s not the right time to do that.

“You guys (media) are way ahead of us but let’s wait for the season to finish first then we’ll take it from there.”

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
