Chiefs medical team assessing Lebese

Cape Town - Following the return of Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune to training last week, Lucky Baloyi returned to full training this week.

According to Kaizer Chiefs official website, Baloyi suffered an ankle injury during training after the festive season break.

Accordingly, the midfielder had to miss Saturday’s match against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Meanwhile, George Lebese sustained a groin injury during that Sundowns encounter, having to be stretchered off the pitch five minutes after the start of the match.

Lebese didn’t train on Wednesday and the club's medical team will continue to assess the midfielder and a decision will be made if he will be able to recover in time for Sunday’s match against Bloemfontein Celtic.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
