Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Lazarous Kambole has been given a much-needed boost of confidence after walking away with two awards at the Zambian Football Association (ZFA) Awards held last weekend.
Kambole won the Fans' Footballer of the Year and Most Disciplined Player of the Year awards for his contribution to former club ZESCO's title-winning campaign.
Since arriving at Naturena in July, Kambole has been thrust straight into the Chiefs' starting line-up but has not managed to get himself on the scoresheet as of yet.
However, the recognition may take some of the weight off the striker's shoulders, as he desperately seeks to endear himself to the expectant Amakhosi faithful.
“It feels great and humbling to be recognised [with the two awards from FAZ]. My focus now is doing duty for Kaizer Chiefs and achieving a lot more,” Kambole reacted on Chiefs' website.
“I will take these awards as a motivation leading to the next game against SuperSport United and the rest of the season.”
The Glamour Boys are set to face Matsatsantsa in their round-three Absa Premiership fixture following a two-week break at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening.
