Chiefs edge Pirates in shootout

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs reached the Telkom Knockout final after beating Orlando Pirates in a penalty shootout at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

As it happened: Chiefs v Pirates

The match finished 0-0 in regulation time and after 30 minutes of extra time nothing could separate the sides.

The penalty shootout was also a tight affair, before Chiefs edged it 6-5 when Siyabonga Sangweni hit the crossbar with the decisive spot-kick.

Amakhosi goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo made a few telling saves and was awarded with the man-of-the-match accolade.

In the final, Chiefs will face Mamelodi Sundowns, who beat SuperSport United 3-1 in the later game.
