Chiefs confirm Castro arrival

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have finally confirmed the signing of Colombian striker Leonardo Castro from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns

The Soweto giants took to Twitter with a brief statement welcoming the Colombian to the club together of a picture of him and Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung.

"Welcome to the Amakhosi Family, Leonardo Castro #KCOneTeam #Amakhosi4Life," Chiefs said.

This follows Sundowns' initial announcement of the transfer on the weekend.

The 28-year-old was at the Brazilians for three seasons, scoring 15 goals in all competitions and also helping them to win the domestic league and the CAF Champions League.

Castro could potentially make his debut for Steve Komphela's side in an away game at SuperSport United on January 6.
