Chiefs celebrate 47th birthday

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have issued a statement in recognition of the club's 47th anniversary which took place on 7 January. Amakhosi were formed on 7 January 1970 by chairman Kaizer Motaung.

Since the formation of the Glamour Boys, the side has gone on to become one of the most successful and well supported teams in South Africa. It has also produced some of the finest talents to have ever played the game such as Ace Ntsoelengoe, Doctor Khumalo and Shoes Moshoeu.

As such, Motaung took to the club's official website to celebrate Chiefs' 47th birthday, saying, "Let me take this opportunity to wish the Amakhosi a happy 47th anniversary. We are pleased to see and celebrate another milestone in the history of our iconic club.

"I am pleased to see the club evolving over the years, while keeping the fundamental principles of spreading love and peace. Thank you to our faithful supporters. Without our sponsors and partners we wouldn't have reached these milestones, and I wish to recognise them all for their support."
