Chiefs boss Motaung pleased with new signings

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung has declared himself happy with how the team's new signings have performed so far this season.

Amakhosi signed five new players ahead of the current campaign - Samir Nurkovic, Kearyn Baccus, Yagan Sasman, Lazarous Kambole and James Kotei.

Forward Nurkovic has cemented his place in the team, scoring eight goals in 12 league matches while Baccus has made 11 league appearances and looked assured in the heart of the midfield.

Sasman has been a regular in the Chiefs defence but Zambian forward Kambole has only had a bit-part role as the Soweto giants have surged to the top of the PSL table.

Kotei is the only new player that has yet to make an official appearance this season and has been linked with a January move away but Motaung said he believes the player will come good.

Motaung said in quotes on Chiefs' website: "I'm glad to see at least three of the five players playing regularly.

"It's a good return because sometimes the new players take time to acclimatise to the new environment but already we've seen Nurkovic making inroads, while Sasman and Baccus have cemented their roles in the team.

"I'm pleased with their progress and trust very soon Kambole and Kotei will make their presence felt."

Chiefs are next in action when they take on SuperSport United on 4 January 2020.
