Chiefs are a work in progress, says Tshabalala

Cape Town - Siphiwe Tshabalala has cited hard work for Kaizer Chiefs' recent string of good results, but has warned they should not get complacent in their approach.

The midfielder picked up the Man-of-the-Match award in Chiefs' Macufe Cup triumph, following a 4-1 victory against Bloemfontein Celtic, and the 32-year-old says it was good to play a full match again.

"It was a good feeling to play 90 minutes and overall we did well as a collective," he told the SABC after the match.

"This is a game that we wanted and it shows with the line-up that we had, and we also had a good bench, so for us it was business as usual.

"When we win, that’s the harder we work, and we don't want to rest on our laurels."

The Soweto giants are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak in the Premiership, and Tshabalala believes that Komphela's side should build on this - taking each game as it comes.

"We haven’t done much, you know, it’s just the beginning. We’re not there yet but we’re a work in progress," he concluded.

The Naturena-based outfit host Ajax Cape Town in their next league encounter, at the FNB Stadium on 10 October.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
