Komphela adds Moon to Chiefs' ever growing squad

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of striker Ryan Moon from Maritzburg United.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Naturena throughout the off-season as Steve Komphela looks to stock up on attack minded players ahead of the new campaign.

“Ryan is one for the future,” comments Komphela on the club's website.

“He will give us options as a striker and on the flanks.” “He played a few games for Maritzburg towards the end of last season and watching his play, he ticks all the boxes.

“He has strong qualities and with proper integration into the Chiefs way, he will bring value to the team.”

Ryan is the younger brother of former Bafana Bafana left-back, Bryce Moon.

The striker went on to say that he is excited to be a part of the Amakhosi family.

“I am excited and over the moon to be joining a big club like Chiefs,” reacts Moon.

“I am honoured to be part of this exciting brand. The facilities here are amazing and this will help take my game to the next level.”

The Amakhosi also announced the promotion of another youngster, central defender Siyabonga ‘Magwegwe’ Ngezana.

The 19-year-old follows the promotion of another youngster from Chiefs’ Youth Development, striker Emmanuel Letlotlo.

“Siya is a product of our development structures,” explains coach Komphela.

“We are happy with his progress and we are bringing him to the first team to feel the exact pressure. He is strong and has a good chance to develop into a fine player."

Itumeleng Khune, Lucky Baloyi, Hendrick Ekstein and Lorenzo Gordinho are all also products of Chiefs’ Youth Development structures.
