Cape Town - Chaos descended on Loftus Versfeld on Saturday afternoon after a number of disgruntled Orlando Pirates fans invaded the pitch and caused the match between their side and Mamelodi Sundowns to come to a halt with 10 minutes remaining.
As it happened: Sundowns v Pirates
Up until that point, Sundowns had dominated the Soweto team and led 6-0 through goals from Themba Zwane, Percy Tau (2), Ricardo Nascimento, Thapelo Morena (2).
A number of Pirates supporters left the stadium in disgust but many others moved onto the pitch, destroying broadcasting facilities as they went.
Police were called onto the field to restore calm. The match resumed with players going through the motions for the final 9 minutes although Pirates did manage to hit the crossbar with a rare effort on goal.
It ended 6-0 in Sundowns favour.
