Celtic's Nyundu joins Mbombela United on loan

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic striker Roggert Nyundu has joined NFD outfit Mbombela United on loan for the second half of the season after failing to break into the first-team setup at the Premiership club.

The experienced forward, 31, joined Celtic at the start of the 2017/18 season, following his release by Durban side AmaZulu.

Nyundu expressed his desire to net 25 goals for Siwelele in that campaign, but he never managed to hit his target.

It had been rumoured that Nyundu was one of four players poised to leave the club in the January transfer window, but Celtic spokesman Sello Nduna has suggested that is not the case.

"The rumours that four players are leaving the club are not true. Only Gordinho and Nyundu have left the club," Nduna said, as quoted by KickOff website.

"Otherwise everybody is back in the club preparing for our game against Chippa United on Friday."
