Cape Town - Thapelo Morena and Tshepo Rikhotso could not hide their excitement about representing Amaglug-glug as they prepare to face Brazil's U23 squad on Sunday.
The Bloemfontein Celtic duo have been ever present in a forgettable campaign for Siwelele but received a major confidence boost from the call-up to represent South Africa's U23 national squad to face the Seleção at the Rei Pele Stadium on Sunday.
The fixture will be played as preparation for the Owen Da Gama's men for the Rio Olympics that will be held later this year and Morena admitted the opportunity is still a bit surreal.
"Sometimes working hard has favorable results," the midfielder told the club's official website. "It's a great feeling to be selected out of so many players in the country.
"Strangely enough, I was telling my teammates about a dream of representing my country in Rio and being afforded this titanic chance to showcase my talent before the final squad is selected means a lot."
Rikhotso echoed his teammates comments, claiming they will give everything to impress the technical team for consideration of the final squad while Morena thanked Celtic for developing them into worthy candidates for national selection.
"With the stiff competition of exceptionally talented and some experienced players we have to double our efforts to be part of the final squad. This will obviously push us to do our maximum best," the 23-year old defender said.
"We must thank from the depth of our hearts our Celtic technical team for guiding and adequately training us to be recognised among the best. We really want to be part of the history to make it to Brazil in August and eventually graduate to the Bafana Bafana team," Morena concluded.
