Cape Town - South Africa's 800m Olympic champion Caster Semenya has thrown her support behind Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the upcoming Soweto derby.
Saturday marks the first 2016/17 official Soweto derby to be held at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Orlando Pirates already suffered a 2-0 Carling Black Label Cup defeat against Chiefs in this season's curtain raiser.
Amakhosi boast a 24-13 win-loss league record against the Buccaneers, with 24 matches ending in draws.
Each year the Soweto derby has that extra bite to it because of its passionate fans and one famous Chiefs supporter has thrown her weight behind Steve Komphela's side.
Semenya, who recently won gold at the Rio Olympics, wished Amakhosi good luck while also poking fun at their opponents.
"All the best to my team @KaizerChiefs in their clash against pie-rats on Saturday #KaizerChiefs #Amakhosi4Life #KCFamily," Semenya said on her official Twitter account.
Komphela will hope his side can maintain their lead at the summit of the Absa Premiership as they look to bring joy back to Naturena.
Muhsin Ertugral's charges are yet to find their feet under his mentorship, but a win at Soccer City will be a step in the right direction.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
