Carnell: Bucs on the right track

Cape Town - While conceding there are areas that need addressing, Orlando Pirates assistant coach Bradley Carnell says the team "is on the right track."

Pirates are fourth in the league standings with eight points from four games, although their last two outings - against Cape Town City and Platinum Stars - both ended in draws and only yielded a single goal.

Up front, Carnell says it's pleasing that chances are being created, but the finishing touch still needs working on.

"We created chances in the last match," he told Soccer Laduma. "We're looking at the football as a whole, from the building up of the team, looking into the various departments."

In defence, Carnell feels that more focus is called for, adding: "Unfortunately, in the space of a few minutes, there was a chain of mistakes that led to conceding, which we could have collectively reduced and minimised.

"In another situation, we would have ground out that result. But on the whole, I think the team played very good football and is on the right track."
