Cape Town City to add 'extra bite'

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town veteran striker Nathan Paulse is excited about the prospect of featuring in the upcoming derbies against Cape Town City.

Cape Town City were announced as the new PSL team in the top division following John Comitis' purchase of Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Following the announcement of the purchase, the club revealed that the name would be changed and that Eric Tinkler signed a three-year deal to steer the club in top flight football

In an interview with News24Live, Paulse admits that the prospect of featuring in a PSL derby excites him as a player.

“A derby game I haven’t felt in years so I think it’s good for Cape Town and I think Ajax as a club needs a team in town to help them push more.

The 34-year-old went on to say that having another team in the Mother City would give Ajax and City an opportunity for future pre-season matches.

“We’ve added one more PSL club in town and added to that, it’s my former CEO, who was the CEO of Ajax (John Comitis) so that adds an extra bit of a bite.”
