Cape Town - Cape Town City are reportedly set to sign midfielder Steeven Ribery - the younger brother of retired France and Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery.
Ribery is a right-winger and was previously on the books of Swedish second-tier outfit Syrianska FC but was released and is now a free agent.
City currently have five registered foreigners on their squad with goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh, Kouassi Kouadja, Edmilson Dove, Roland Putsche and Chris David taking up the berths.
This means if Ribery does sign as expected in the near future - one of those five needs to be released as this is a requirement in terms of Premiership rules.
A source told KickOff: "Cape Town City have signed Steeven Ribery.
"He is the little brother of Franck Ribery. But they need to first transfer a foreign player before they announce it."
The younger Ribery is expected to join former Orlando Pirates star Mpho Makola as another new addition to the squad.
