Cape Town City announce Thato Mokeke return

Cape Town - Cape Town City have announced the return of utility player Thato Mokeke to the Absa Premiership club on a two-year contract.

The 28-year-old defender, who can also operate in defensive role, joined Chippa United in October last year after being released by SuperSport United at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

However, his stay at Chippa was short-lived as he made eight appearances in all competitions before sealing a return to the Mother City on Friday.

The Citizens took to Twitter to confirm the news. The club statement read: "Cape Town City is delighted to announce the signing of South African, Thato Mokeke on a 2-year deal.

"The utility midfielder was an integral part of City's 2016 Cup winning squad, and the club is delighted to have finally secured Thato on a permanent basis."

Mokeke was loaned to City by SuperSport United in the 2016/17 season and become a mainstay in the side, featuring 27 times.
