Bucs legend Kenneth Mazibuko passes away

Cape Town - Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have confirmed the passing of club legend Kenneth Mazibuko at the age of 78.

Mazibuko, who began his Pirates career as an 11-year-old in 1951 and went on to become a revered striker at the club, passed away early on Saturday morning.

The statement read:

Orlando Pirates Football Club is saddened with the news of the passing of club legend Kenneth Mazibuko.

"Black Sash", as he was affectionately known passed away in the early hours of this morning according to his son Irvin Mazibuko who informed club officials today.

On behalf of the entire Orlando Pirates family we would like to convey our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Mazibuko family and pledge our profound moral support.

We supplicate that God gives you fortitude at this moment of your extreme grief and pain.

Details of the funeral will be made public in due course.
