Buchanan set for Chiefs debut

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have revealed that midfielder Keagan 'Keags' Buchanan has resumed full training, while defender Eric Mathoho has started his rehabilitation schedule.

The club's official website released a statement regarding the availability of Buchanan and Mathoho, in addition to revealing that Siphiwe Tshabalala is now fully fit.

"'Keags' is relishing the prospects of donning his No 10 gold and black jersey, while the Amakhosi faithful are waiting in anticipation for his first appearance in an official match," read a statement published on the club's website.

"Meanwhile, Erick 'Tower' Mathoho has started on the training field with rehabilitation following the ankle injury he picked up at the Rio Olympics. It is so far so good for ‘Tower’, but he remains under the watchful eye of the medical team."

"Siphiwe ‘Shabba’ Tshabalala has recovered. ‘Shabba’ is involved in full training and is also participating in practice matches," the statement concluded.

Amakhosi are still seeking their first win of the Premiership, having suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bidvest Wits in their opening league encounter.

Steve Komphela's men return to action when they play host Platinum Stars on Wednesday, 14 September.
