Brockie: I've been scoring goals at training

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns striker Jeremy Brockie says having a full pre-season under his belt is reaping rewards, and he is starting to find the back of the net at training.

Following his prolific three-year spell at SuperSport United, Brockie joined Sundowns in January but struggled to replicate his fine form as the club were leading in the Premiership title race and had an established starting line-up.

The New Zealand international, who signed on a lucrative five-year deal at Chloorkop, is yet to open his account in an official fixture although he has made just three starts to date.

Nonetheless, the 30-year-old is optimistic of finding his best form ahead of 2018/19.

He told Kickoff: "It's always difficult coming halfway through the season, especially when you come to a team that's top of the table and already has the combinations and stuff like that set.

"So I guess the pre-season has given me an opportunity to try make an impact and put my name in the coach's thoughts when it comes to selecting the first 11.

"I've really worked hard in the last couple of weeks. I am in good shape, feeling fit and I am ready to take my opportunity and make an impact on the club this season.

"I've been scoring goals in training, so the confidence is high. There's a lot of attacking talent in this team, so I just have to wait for that opportunity."
