Cape Town - Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers dropped a huge hint over the potential transfer of Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee.

Coetzee, 20, is said to be one of the short-listed targets for the Scottish giants who're keen to reinforce their defence before the end of the current transfer window.

And the wantaway Urban Warriors youth product has impressed The Hoops scouting team with his ability to play the ball out from defence.

Rodgers was asked directly this weekend by reporters over the interest brewing in Scottish and South African media and the former Liverpool remained blunt in his response.

"It's really about the availability of a player," he told reporters about the Bafana Bafana star.

"We'll look to bring in quality if it becomes available. It's something we have been working towards over the course of the last few weeks."
