Cape Town - Chippa United have parted ways with head coach Dan Malesela, the club confirmed via their Twitter page on Wednesday.
The club added that they had secured the services of former SuperSport United and Cape Town City midfielder Eric Tinkler as Malesela's replacement on a one-year contract.
Chippa are currently second-bottom in the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season, having accumulated just one point from their three matches to date.
For Tinkler, it is yet another move in South Africa's top-flight.
"The club believes that his proven abilities fit in perfectly with its objectives and wish him every success in the Eastern Cape," a statement said.
Earlier Malesela had confirmed his departure from the Chilli Boys bringing an end his third spell at the club who had made 15 new signings ahead of the 2018/19 season.
"My contract has been terminated. I got the letter (on Monday) night. I haven't spoken to him (club boss, Chippa Mpengesi), but I think it's all about patience. It's embarrassing for me. I can't suffer this humiliation," he said.
Chippa United hereby confirm that it has parted ways with Head Coach Dan Malesela. The Club would like to thank Coach Dan for his contribution to the club over the past and current season and wish him the best with his future endeavours.
