Bobby Motaung needs help, says Junior Khanye

Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye believes football manager Bobby Motaung needs assistance when it comes to building a new squad.

Following an awful season in 2018/19 in which Chiefs finished ninth and lost the Nedbank Cup final to TS Galaxy, Motaung has come under some criticism for some of his dealings in the transfer market.

The decision to bring in Ernst Middendorp in December for the ineffective Giovanni Solinas has been questioned, as well as some of the club's dealings in terms of bringing in new players.

The Glamour Boys recently released a statement in which the side promised to make radical changes in order to ensure success in 2019/20.

Khanye takes the view that Motaung needs help in carrying out his duties especially when it comes to signing new players.

He told Soccer Laduma: "I'm sorry for what I am going to say, I believe that Bobby needs someone to assist him in managing the club. He needs someone to help him specifically on the role of signing players. I am saying this as advice and in a professional way."

Chiefs are set to begin pre-season on 26 June although at this stage it is uncertain whether Middendorp will remain in charge at that point in time.
