Bobby Motaung: Chiefs in talks with Gor Mahia over Walusimbi

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that the club is in talks with Gor Mahia over Ugandan defender Godfrey Walusimbi.

Mahia had initially indicated that they were upset with Walusimbi for travelling to South Africa without their permission, but Chiefs insisted that this was a misunderstanding.

Amakhosi have now confirmed that they are in dialogue with the Kenyan club and hopeful of resolving the matter soon.

"The two clubs are in discussions and we hope to finalise the matter in the next few days," Motaung said, according to Amakhosi's official website.

The 29-year-old left-back is currently under contract with Mahia until 2020.

Meanwhile, the Soweto giants are up against Maritzburg United on Friday evening in an Absa Premiership clash.

Kick-off is at 20:00.
