Black Aces swoop for Mulenga

Cape Town - Mpumalanga Black Aces have confirmed the signing of winger Mukuka Mulenga from Mamelodi Sundowns on a six-month loan deal.

Mulenga failed to make an impact at Sundowns after joining in 2013 after impressing with the Zambia national team.

After an injury-plagued loan spell at Bloemfontein Celtic last season, Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral believes Mulenga can add value to his team.

"Mukuka has been registered after joining us from Sundowns," Ertugral told KickOff.

"The tiny concern that was there is that he came with a small niggling injury, but we hope he is available for selection this weekend.

"Right now he is the kind of player we need because he can unlock the tightest of defences; he is the Khama Billiat type of player.

"I know he hasn't played for a while, so we will not be putting so much pressure on him as far as sharpness is concerned, though we believe he can do a job for us."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
