Cape Town - After a campaign of ups and downs Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat is hoping he and his club will finish the season on a high note.
Amakhosi began the season very poorly under the misguided leadership of Giovanni Solinas. Since he was replaced by Ernst Middendorp things have gone much better for Chiefs.
Unfortunately the damage had already been done and there is no way they can challenge for the league title.
However, they are still in the Nedbank Cup at the semi-finals stage and are by far considered the favourites to win it with just Chippa United (their semi final opponents), Golden Arrows and TS Galaxy left in the competition.
Billiat also has one eye on the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations where he will represent Zimbabwe, knowing that a lifting his form at the end of the season can only be a good thing for his country.
"Definitely, it will give you confidence before AFCON and you'll be on top of your game if you actually finish the season strong," he told KickOff.
"Going to such a big tournament with a lot of confidence will help you, and it's always a player's aim to be on top of his game.
"Also, it's not only for AFCON, you never know who is watching and what happens after, so every game and every time you're given a chance, you need to be on top of your game - because you're always only as good as your last game."
