Billiat relieved with hard-fought win

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Khama Billiat reveals they had to fight for their 3-1 win over a tough-tackling Polokwane City outfit in the Premiership on Wednesday.

Billiat provided the assisted in the Leonardo Castro brace while Keagan Dolly scored during the physical encounter where City were brought down to 10 men.

The victory has ensured that Sundowns maintain their lead atop the Premiership table with 55 points from 24 games.

"It was a tough game - they know how to play football. They know how to keep shape and it's difficult to find spaces," Billiat told KickOff.

"So credit to them, but we stuck to the plan and collected three points, which is important.

"You always expect that when you're playing with the big boys at the back. They're very tough, but thank God I can still manage to stand here."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
