Billiat: Our coach has been pushing us

Cape Town - Khama Billiat credited Pitso Mosimane for pushing Mamelodi Sundowns to what he claimed was a hard-earned league title.

Sundowns were confirmed as the Absa Premiership champions following Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town, clinching the title with a game to spare. Billiat scored Sundowns' first goal, levelling the match after Ajax took an early lead.

The Zimbabwean, who will be out of contract at the end of the season, admitted that the Brazilians had to dig deep in order to beat Orlando Pirates to the title.

Billiat told SuperSport: "Thank God we are in this space again. We were fighting so hard and it was not easy.

"Our coach has always been pushing us, and as much as it was hard, this is a great feeling.

"Yeah, it looks easy, but there is a lot of work that has been done behind the scenes."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
